Meet Michelle

Ceramicist. Flower maker. Colour enthusiast. Firm believer that life is too short for beige.

Hi, I’m Michelle, the maker and teacher behind Michelle Ehmann Ceramics.

I create joyful, one-of-a-kind ceramics from my studio in Logan, Queensland, with a particular obsession for flowers, colour and a little bit of whimsy.

This wasn’t exactly the plan

After a long career in the non-profit sector, I left intending to take a six-month career break and figure out what came next.

Within three months, life changed and I became a full-time carer for someone I love.

Ceramics found its place within that new version of my life. What began as a creative outlet while I was immersed in corporate life, grew into a business and somewhere along the way, I became the “flower lady”.

More than flowers

Today I make colourful ceramic flowers and homewares and teach flower-making workshops across South East Queensland.

The workshops have become a huge part of what I love about this business. They’re a chance to slow down, play, connect and make something with your own hands. No experience or “craftiness” required.

Everything I do is underpinned by five things:

Joy. Connection. Playfulness. Care. Accessibility.

They shape what I make, how I teach and the kind of spaces I want to create.

Because yes, there are a lot of flowers around here.

But the flowers are just the beginning. 🌸
